PSA Sailing Pro Courses



Candidate Requirements:

- Age: 16 years old.

- Swimming ability : Good in deep water .

- Knowledge: Working experience at sailing center for at least 3 month (or) PSA Water Sports Helper Certificate.

- Riding level: Cross wind, Up wind, Downwind, Tack and Gibe, all in confidence.

- Valid First Aid certificate.


Course coverage

1- School readiness, Equipment rigging and check.

2- Basic weather conditions and wind effects.

3- Sailing terminology.

4- Hospitality at Sailing center.

5- PSA Student Courses and levels (Practical).

6- PSA Assistant Instructor role.

7- Exam and final evaluation.


Course Duration and sections

5 Days, every day has two sections (class room and practice on water).


Course Price and payments

Sailing assistant Instructor Course price is 330$ to be paid by candidate upon course availability and before course starts.


Candidate Equipment

No equipment needed. (if candidate would like to bring his own buoyancy aid and Harness no problem).


Candidate credits

- After finishing the course and passing the final evaluation, candidates will be:

- Certified as Sailing Assistant and have access to his profile.

- Able to start career as assistant in PSA Sailing schools and centres.

- Ready to apply for Sailing Instructor course.


Internship

If candidate did not pass final exam and final evaluation, he/she has to get through internship hours with PSA level 2 Sailing Instructor and a report of fulfilling internship hours must be done by PSA level 2 Sailing Instructor before candidate get certified as PSA Sailing Assistant.



Candidate Requirements:

- Age: 18 years old

- Swimming ability: Very Good in deep water.

- Knowledge: Working experience at Sailing centre for at least 1 year or PSA Windsurf Assistant instructor certificate.

- Riding level: Safe Dingy or cat. Sailing at 15 – 25 knots, Cross wind, Up wind, downwind, gibing, Tacking, Recovery from capsizing. All in confidence.

- Valid First Aid certificate.

- Boat handling: ability to handle rescue boat driving. (Local authority license if required)

1- Sailing Instructor role at PSA schools and centers.

2- Teaching concepts and channels of communication with students.

3- Students psychology.

4- Weather conditions and wind effects.

5- Sailing terminology.

6- Hospitality at Sailing center.

7- Teaching to real student Beginner-Intermediate-Independent.

8- Exam and final evaluation.


Course Duration and sections

7 Days, every day has two sections (class room and practice on water).

Sailing Level1 Instructor Course price is 530$ to be paid by candidate upon course availability and before course starts.


Candidate Equipment

Own buoyancy aid and Harness.


Candidate credits

- After finishing the course and passing the final evaluation, candidates will be:

- Certified as PSA Level 1 Sailing Instructor and have access to his/her profile.

- Able to start career as Instructor in PSA Sailing schools and centers.

- Teach students with ratio 1 instructor to 1 student.

- Ready to apply for Level 2 Sailing Instructor Exam after fulfilling teaching hours required.


Internship

If candidate did not pass final exam and final evaluation, he/she has to get through internship hours with PSA level 2 Sailing Instructor and a report of fulfilling internship hours must be done by PSA level 2 Sailing Instructor before candidate get certified as PSA Level 1 Sailing Instructor.



Candidate Requirements:

- Be certified PSA Level 1 Sailing instructor.

- Register 500 training hours or 50 students.

- Pass Sailing Instructor level 2 exam and evaluation.


Candidate credits

- After finishing the course and passing the final evaluation, candidates will be:

- Certified as PSA Level 2 Sailing Instructor and have access to his/her updated profile.

- Able to start career as Level 2 Instructor in PSA Sailing schools and centers.

- Teach students with ratio 1 instructor to 3 student.

- Have access to PSA Centre Manager (CM) course.

- Ready to apply for Level 3 Sailing Instructor Exam after fulfilling teaching hours required.

- Able to deliver Internship hours to Sailing Assistant and Level 1 Instructor candidates.

Candidate Requirements:

- Be certified PSA Level 2 Sailing instructor.

- Register 1000 training hours or 100 students.

- Pass Sailing Instructor level 3 exam and evaluation.


Candidate credits

- After finishing the course and passing the final evaluation, candidates will be:

- Certified as PSA Level 3 Sailing Instructor and have access to his/her updated profile.

- Able to start career as Level 3 Instructor in PSA Sailing schools and centres.

- Teach students with ratio 1 instructor to 4 student with 1 PSA Assistant.

- Have access to PSA Centre Manager (CM) course.

- Able to deliver Internship hours to Sailing Assistant and Level 1 Instructor candidates.

- Able to organize Advanced PSA Clinics for up to 8 participants.
